Pennsylvania Band Goes Viral With Spot On Cover Of 'You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch'

December 4, 2018

I've been familiar with Small Town Titans for some time now.  I have kept them on my radar since interviewing them years ago and first hearing their music.  There was no doubt in my mind back then that there would be a day that they became the band everyone would be talking about.  Man, it's good to be right.

Less than two weeks ago the band released a special cover of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, and the internet has collectively flipped over it.  Can't say that I blame them, as this is the best cover of anything that has ever been done.  Lead vocalist Phil Freeman has a vocal depth that is off the charts, and it lent itself perfectly to this cover.  Choosing this song was a brilliant choice as it has gone insanely viral with more than 20 millions views in a very short time.

For years I have tried to tell local bands that I come across that if you can do a cover of a popular song and bring your personal touch to it, and do it really well, people will take notice and want to learn more of the rest of your music catalog.  With that in mind, I have this to say about this cover of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch: THIS IS HOW YOU DO A PERFECT COVER!

Often times a band's name doesn't reflect who they are.  After the past couple of weeks, Small Town Titans are more than living up to their band name.  The video is featured on the home page, but here it is again just because it's that good.
